WoW Upgrades - The item level upgrade Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases item upgrade level by +3. A random substat is also boosted alongside each upgrade.

Upgraded gear generally sees more value in trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as valuable for those with lower requirements due to the need to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. However, the item used to upgrade will be consumed forever and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities and can be accessed at any time to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear current, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every several weeks.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item however they'll always be less expensive than purchasing new gear. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items that can be used to improve the quality of weapons and tools, armor and accessories. They can be purchased from item upgraders NPCs in a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any weapon, tool or armor. The button will display the preview of an item's next level of upgrade, when there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot for the item and the current item upgrades level. For instance weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with some upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain amount and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currencies.

It is best to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the best gear you can locate and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is particularly true for items like rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to avail the discount for all accounts when all slots are full of high-quality equipment.
