Pokemon GO Upgrade Items and Components

An upgrade item is an item upgrading that makes certain Pokemon evolve. The upgrade is obtained by spinning a PokeStop photo disc. It's sometimes given as a prize in Pokemon GO events.

Upgrade components

There are various upgrade components, each with distinct bonuses. Universal upgrades, such as gems and inscriptions, are able to be used in any type of equipment. They also offer lower bonuses than other kinds of upgrade components. Infusions can be utilized on non-amulet and legendary ascended items, while enhancements can be used on some ascended back equipment. Inserting an upgrade component will destroy the previous upgrade. The only exceptions are glyphs which can only be inserted in gathering tools, as well as enchantments. Both are able to be removed and reinserted.

Insignias, enchantments, and upgrades with prefixes or suffixes will be displayed in the hover display of the item while they will be added to the equipment's name (e.g. a Radiant Insignia would change the name to Radiant Tyrian Armor). The tooltip of an item will display the number of upgrades that have been added to it.

Glyphs

Glyphs are special characters that can be inserted into an OpenType font to add functional or decorative elements like ligatures and ornaments, fractions, swashes, registered trademark symbols and ellipses. The Glyphs panel allows you to look up and insert these unique characters as well as standard glyphs such as em dashes and en dashes registered trademark symbols and characters that are not found in other fonts (such as dingbats).

Each Glyph gives an initial boost to the stats of the character. It also includes up to four secondary stats that affect the radius of the glyph on your Paragon Board. Secondary Stats are a percentage increase which is multiplied by other bonuses, except for Speed Glyphs that directly increase the hero’s speed.

The Glyphs in your inventory can be activated by selecting them, and then clicking the "enchant" button. This will display a new window with the Glyphs you have available that can be applied to the item you have selected. You only need to apply the correct Glyph to the selected item upgrade. Every weapon or armor piece has its own collection of Glyphs.

Glyphs can be upgraded by completing Nightmare Dungeons or completing Tree of Whisper quests. The more difficult a dungeon is, the more Glyph experience you'll earn. Once a Glyph reaches level 15 it can be upgraded at the Glyph Upgrade Altar. The radius of the Paragon Board grows by one node for each 15 levels that a Glyph is upgraded.

Once a Glyph has been leveled up to the desired level you can activate it by selecting it and then clicking the "enchant" button. The resulting glyph will give its stated bonus and will also boost all the other nodes that are within its range on the Paragon Board. It's crucial to place glyphs where they will be most beneficial to your build, and this is why it's recommended to prioritize Magic Glyphs early on. Some glyphs, however, might offer dual benefits if certain conditions are met and therefore are worth checking out for too.

If you're having trouble finding a specific glyph, click the cycle widget on the Glyphs panel to show the panel in a variety of perspectives. Each view shows the Glyphs using a different font. You can narrow down the list of glyphs you want to see by selecting an option under "Entire Font". For example, punctuation is only displayed in punctuation glyphs. Math Symbols restricts the choices to mathematical symbols.

Rerolling

Rerolling involves establishing an account on a different account to increase your chances of obtaining the weapon or character you'd like. Sets

However it's important to remember that not all set items are suitable candidates for upgradation. Certain sets, such as the FB Sorc Whistan's shield and Naj's puzzler staff are already Exceptional in their own rights and don't require any upgrades. Certain items, such as Goldwrap and Whistan's Shield (both BiS) that are used frequently may benefit from an upgrade to improve their value. For these types of items, it could be worth the extra cost to upp them.
