Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade items allows players to enhance their weapons and gear with new affixes, increasing its base stats or providing additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player has to have it in their inventory as well as access to the kiln.

Items with weak bases, like rings can be upgraded to more robust bases. Items with bases that are strong, such as Titans from eth, have no changes in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be used to upgrade trinkets, weapons, armor and tools for gathering, offering an attribute bonus or extra effect when the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, retrieved in loot from enemies, or received from chests or missions. Some upgrades additionally have special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level to upgrade.

To upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the player has to select it, and then click on the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will display a preview on the right side of the screen, showing what the expected upgrade statistics will be and also the component or material needed to complete the upgrade.

There are three kinds of upgrade components: universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, such as gems, are able to be placed on any type of equipment. They offer a lower bonus than upgrade components that have a specific type restriction. Infusions are only placed in gear that is ascended and legendary equipment are exactly the same as jewels but provide larger bonuses and cannot be used in any other kind of equipment. If a player upgrades a gathering tool, and replaces the glyphs with a different one the previous one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace another upgrade component with a glyph, it will be destroyed, with the exception for the inscriptions, which can be swapped freely.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade process differs from previous versions in some important ways. Gear is now divided into tracks and items can be upgraded a certain number of times before they're "leveled out." The upgrade costs increase with each level, however the materials required for upgrades do not. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a couple of essential items and maximize their impact instead of spreading the upgrade costs across multiple pieces.

This will enable the item level upgrade to receive upgraded components, and have a greater chance of success. This bonus is called the Artisan's Energy. It will reset to 0 if an upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

If an item does not attain its maximum level, the NPC gives players the option to transfer it to a new character and then re-infuse it with a new set or upgrades. This procedure can take as long as two hours, and costs the same amount of material. However, it has a lower chance of success.

To measure the height of a building engineers employ an instrument to compare the measurement against an established reference point such as a benchmark or the ground's elevation. This method is known as a "level-loop." This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method helps ensure that buildings are constructed to a high standard of accuracy and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling refers to the process of changing the upgrade components of an item upgrades. It is a very important aspect of the game, and it can boost an item's damage, strength or other characteristics. Reroll tokens are obtained by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item, or to upgrade another similar item upgrades. Recyclable items come with an indicator of level that indicates how much of the upgrade Item gauge has been filled. The rarity and cost of upgrading an item upgrade determines the amount of level that has been filled.

Prior to this, some upgrade items were given priority affixes, which made them more accessible for players to roll. This meant that you would be able to get the stats that were important most to your build often than other. These included things such as the armor's total armor, thorns, and duration reduction statistics that were controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This was changed in the latest patch. Priority affixes have been removed, and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling for each statistic. This can be either good or bad, depending on what you're looking for and want from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can come with a bonus that increases the power of the item upgrader by a set percentage or flat value. These bonuses are offered into the usual affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the better your chance of getting an exclusive bonus.

The game also includes several sets, which grant a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are installed on an item. This is a great method to give an individual character more power without spending a lot of money.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be arranged in different ways. They could be of various dimensions, have no elements, or only contain one element. Another reason to upgrade certain items is to bring them up to the same level as their counterparts in their tiers. For instance the Immortal King set has a large level range, from 29 to 76. Upgrades to lower-level items of the set can increase their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will show the attributes of the item and the items required to upgrade it. It will show the item's features, as well as the required items to upgrade it. To upgrade the No-mouth Face, for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to check the upgrade requirements for specific items.

In general, weapons and armor have higher value when they are fully updated. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons that have weapons-damage or spell glyphs. This will bring about a significant improvement in their performance. This will also boost the defense of armor with a newer appearance.
