WoW Upgrades - The item upgrading Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boosts in specific statistics. Each upgrade increases the item level by +3. A random additional substat is also increased with every upgrade.

The upgraded gear typically has a more value in trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item level upgrade upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed forever and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities and can be accessed at any time to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks, to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current level of the gear being upgraded but they will always be cheaper than buying new gear from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapons, armor, tools, and accessory upgrades. Players can purchase them from NPCs of item upgraders for a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any weapon, tool or armor. button, which will show an item's preview at its next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the slot of the item upgrader kit and the current level of the item. For example weapons cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or crests that are used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currencies.

This change is intended to allow players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible ilvl for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another notable change is that crests have one usage, so it's important to make use of them in a responsible manner. It is best to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the Best item upgrade gear you can locate, and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades.
