World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to items can be used to boost the stats of an item. Depending on the type of upgrade, it can boost the rarity of an item upgrade, or its Mark Level and boost additional stats.

Each item has a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a specific amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's base stats increases when it is upgraded. This value is the sum of the perks that are leveled up (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive depending on the person you hire and what you decide to do. This is because of how many perks must be replaced in order for the item to get upgraded.

Best item upgrade level is a commonly used measurement of power and can be found on all tooltips of items. It is also used to limit how much PvP gear players can use since PvP is not available at lower levels. The average item level is listed on the character sheet.

When deciding to purchase or sell gear players can look at the levels of the item. It's a useful indicator of an item's quality and how much damage it's able to deal. The level of the item can be used to evaluate items when looking at the inventory of a seller.

The item level can be checked by pressing the ALT key on PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the full description of the item, as well as its value. It can also be found by hovering an item with the mouse cursor and typing /itemlevel into chat.

There are several theories about the method by which the level of an item is calculated. One theory states that the item level is calculated by an equation that determines how valuable the stats of an item really are. It takes into consideration the fact that different perks have different worth and that sockets have gems that increase the overall value of the item. This can result in a calculated amount for the item's ilvl, which is usually quite close to Blizzard's real level of the item.

This isn't the only thing that affects the ilvl of an item. The location of where the item was dropped may change its stats. For instance it can increase the item's haste or crit rating. Items that drop in higher-level instances will have higher ilvl.

Item Stats

Stats on an item are a significant element in what determines the value of an item for players. The game utilizes them in many ways to encourage players not to limit themselves to one weapon and to encourage players to experiment with other weapons. The stats of a base weapon are increased by the weapon's stat modification, which are themselves enhanced by the player's level.

Upgrades to an item may increase its stats. The upgrade item costs are determined by the rarity of the item. A grey or white item upgrading for instance, will only be upgraded once however, items with rare tiers can be upgraded several times at more expensive costs.

Another method to alter the stats of an item is to use affixes. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player and come in a variety of sizes and shapes. The affixes are used to give items additional damage, special capabilities (such as revitalizing dead or reducing cooling downs) or to make them unique by putting a name on them.

All affixes can be currently re-rolled by selecting them in the upgrade window, and pressing the green button. This will cost a certain amount in gold and other items. These can be used as upgrade gauges similar to other methods of rerolling.

Players can upgrade an item to specific stats or reroll affixes. The range of stats is determined by the item's level. However every item will have at least one stat within the same range, unless it's a unique item or a God Roll from a boss in a raid.

Another thing that could be changed is the option to upgrade equipment without having to reroll the attaches, or select which stats to increase. Like base equipment, it will have to be done per item and the interface for item comparison will not show all possible stats at once.

Item Luck

A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the odds of item discoveries as well as the properties that appear on loot drops, and the intensity of those properties. However, it doesn't directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It simply gives players a possibility to obtain better equipment in earlier waves and is therefore more useful in the initial game run than later ones as most players prioritize higher weapon scaling and defenses over raw damage gains.

Luck can also boost the chance of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading that increases with each level and can be further enhanced through the use of an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons have a default Luck value of 40. These items can then be upgraded with golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to give +40 Luck, or to increase the Luck of an item up to 140.

Certain items, like the Hollow-infused weapon, can also be equipped to increase the damage dealt by any skill that deals damage by 5%. These items can be bought at the store, or they can be made using the correct ingredients.

Upgrades to items are a costly process and not all upgrades will be successful. However, there are some cash shop items that allow players to boost their success rate or prevent them from losing an item if the upgrade is unsuccessful.

When you upgrade an item, the success rate is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the probability of successfully upgrading the item, and can be enhanced by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The probability of success can only be increased as much, and the chance that the upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%..

The performance of an upgrades is also influenced by the Luck of that item. All items have an overall success rate of 25 percent, and each item that has Luck increases the chance of success by five percent.

Note that upgrades to items are rendered above the items in the inventory therefore enchantment glints and other effects can be obstructed by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
