The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot with smart mapping and app-based no go zones. Its 180-minute running time is impressive. It also self-empties and refills its water tank.

1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot

The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's smartest robot vacuum to date. Its most notable advancement, however, is its camera-based obstacle detection system. This uses AI to detect objects like charging cords and shoes. It's the first robot to send you a picture of an object that it encounters, so you can instruct the robot to avoid it.

The Combo J7+ is the most efficient robot mop we have ever tested. It picks up dirt and spills effortlessly leaving no trace it was there. It's easy to control using the iRobot Home app that allows you to schedule cleaning and create Keep Out Zones to ensure it doesn't vacuum areas you don't want it to. And it's compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can turn it on and off with your voice.

Its design is also a step above the competition and features a sleek, top piece that appears more like a toy than a loud, obnoxious one. The Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System is self-emptying and is ideal for reducing your cleanup time.

In our tests the j7+ was quick to clean up dust dirt, pet hair and other particles. The counter-rotating rubber brushes held the debris in place, rather than scattering it around the floor vacuum robot. It was able to capture small pieces of gravel, sand, and even a bit of grit. The majority of robots cannot do this. It did all this without getting caught in our pet's hair.

The j7+, though not as smart as the $1,217 Roomba S9+ Self-Emptying Vacuum from iRobot and can't clean the stairs, is a good option for those who want both mopping and vacuum. It's not expensive and the iRobot app makes it very user-friendly to use.

While the iRobot Home app is very user-friendly however, we've found it to be less reliable than other applications that work with robotic cleaners. It can take some time to download updates, and sometimes it's difficult to know whether the update is functioning until you've seen it in the action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you are looking for a robot vacuum cleaner that does more than just clean your floors A hybrid is the best vacuums option. These bots are equipped with a tank of water so they can mop and vacuum simultaneously. These bots also come with a variety of extra features, including smart mapping and small object avoidance and the possibility of washing and re-drying mopping pads. They're costly at retail, but they often lower prices on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Roborock makes several of our top robot vacuum cleaner robotic vacuums and the Q5+ does not fail to impress. This is their least expensive auto-empty model. While it lacks some of the premium features that are found on more expensive models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's a great option if you're willing to compromise a bit in order to save a few hundred dollars.

The Q5+ is noticeably soft around obstacles like wall legs and table legs which makes it an excellent choice for homes with lots of furniture. It's also extremely thorough in cleaning dust bunnies, which is a place where cheaper robot vacuums be a bit sloppy. The navigation technology in the Q5+ is fantastic too, with very little missing in corners and along walls.

The Q5+, like other Roborock products, can be controlled by only a few buttons on your device or via the Roborock App. The app allows you to start and stop cleanings. You can also set up schedules, create virtual barrier and no-go areas or modify your home map or re-label rooms.

If you opt for the Q5+ it comes with a brand new auto emptying dock that is designed to make this robot easier to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver but once in place emptying the bin can be accomplished easily. It also features an impressive LCD display that is great to have when setting up schedules or adjusting settings. This feature isn't essential for everyone, but it can help you easily keep the robot's maintenance schedules.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's astonishingly intelligent in its vacuuming and mopping capabilities. Its design is one of the most innovative in the market however, it's costly.

The base station is attractive and is hidden when it's not in use, and the size is relatively compact. But the station's main selling point is how it automates many tasks and functions that most other robots leave up to you. It can keep clean and dirty water and electrolyze and heat the water. Most other robovacs will require you to perform this.

Its vacuuming capabilities are impressive and efficient, too. It's the few robovacs I've tested that does very well at collecting debris from bare floors, and it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.

But the Freo X Ultra has its shortcomings, particularly when it comes to navigation. Its laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs, which means it is sometimes stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms of your home. It's not able climb stairs as well as competitors, and it doesn't have a dock that allows the user to set up a dedicated cleaning zone for carpets that are soft.

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a great choice for those who need an automated remote vacuum cleaner that can do it all.

If you're looking for a way to save money or aren't averse to the limitations of the robot, there are many other options available. A lot of eufy models are considerably less. The eufy Qrevo curv, for example is a bit more expensive however it comes with more features, including the ability to climb stairs and a full-function Dock, that provides an improved overall experience when vacuuming on plain floors carpets, low-pile carpets and even high-pile carpets.

4. Eufy RoboVac G30

Eufy, a Anker company has a proven track record of producing robot vacuums that strike the right balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different, offering a capable cleaning of hard floors as well as mopping, carpets and other surfaces at a reasonable price. It's simple to set up simply by snapping one of the side brushes on, turn it on, and plug it into the charging dock. The elegant G30 isn't without faults however. The iRobot Roomba 675 is better built, incurs lower recurring costs, charges faster and has a similar battery life. It also offers superior performance on floors that are unfinished and low-pile carpet. It also has a larger dust bin that doesn't require to be empty as often and comes with a set of boundaries that restrict it from certain areas. The G30, on the other hand is less expensive and is much more manageable to maintain. Its smaller dust container does not require emptying as often and is less prone to suffocating bulky materials such as cereal.
