They're easy to open and close, although I found their textured plastic coatings to be a little hard on the fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator includes all the features you'd expect from a refrigerator in this price range. It has Wi-Fi as well as app support, and GE's SmartHQ Software. The app is compatible with iOS and Android devices and lets you control your refrigerator from any place in the globe. It also has numerous options for customizing. The ice maker is one of the best we've ever tested and produces pyramid-shaped ice that is low in use of water. This refrigerator is ideal for a single household or kitchenette that needs an attractive design and top of the line food preservation.

This refrigerator was the highest-rated refrigerator in our Refrigerators Test for a few reasons. Its freezer temperatures held firm at just above 0 degrees Fahrenheit, and never changing more than a fraction a degree--this is key to preventing freezer burn. The fridge's refrigerator section also performed well, reaching the desired initial set temperature within a matter of hours and keeping that temperature steady throughout the course of our tests.

Bosch is known for its premium appliances which is why it's no surprise that this counter depth refrigerator is also a smart appliance that has the option of connecting to your home Wi-Fi as well as Bosch's Home Connect platform. The fridge features the standard French door layout, with two rows of shelves that can be used to capture spills and a set of crisper drawers. The top right shelf can be folded down to give tall items more space. You'll also find a full width drawer for deli items and an internal water dispenser.

One of the great aspects of this refrigerator is that its ice maker is in the freezer, making it easy to move ice into the fridge to use as needed. The freezer has thoughtful design elements, for instance, sliding drawers to help you better organize the placement of your items. It also has a large bin that can hold plenty of frozen food items as well as an storage bin for ice.

Another awesome feature of this refrigerator is its Smart InstaView panel. It allows you to manage the refrigerator's temperature and lighting via your smartphone. It's a nice way to monitor and manage your refrigerator, especially if you're away from home.

However, while the Smart InstaView is a neat feature, it does not necessarily enhance the overall performance of the refrigerator. In fact, it took longer to defrost and chill foods in this fridge than other refrigerators we tried. This is likely due to its greater capacity.

The doors are a different issue with this fridge. The sunken handles allow smaller people to open them from the bottom. However taller people will have a hard time closing them without slamming them. It would have been more effective if they had handles mounted on the front.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX is a ideal option for those looking to combine the benefits of a French-door refrigerator's aesthetics with an efficient layout. Its capacity is higher than average for a counter-depth model and it cools well and has a nice layout. It's also a little less than the top counter depth refrigerator with an icemaker, which makes it an attractive option.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

This Frigidaire french door fridge with ice maker door refrigerator is a good choice for those looking for a French-door fridge that won't break the budget. It's a basic fridge that may not be as appealing as some of its competitors however it has enough features to make a an excellent option. Its most notable feature is the temperature adjustable drawer, which helps keep foods like meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also comes with a huge water dispenser as well as a good Ice machine that is fast.

The "Chill Drawer", which is situated over the two crisper bins, is a excellent feature. This drawer allows you to redirect a portion of the fridge's cooling power to the area so it can be used to store food items which need extra attention. You can alter this feature using a slider that's located right outside of the drawer. You can also set the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I have found that the generic settings work better than the specific ones.

During my tests, I discovered that the temperatures in the refrigerator were fairly consistent across different areas of the fridge. The temperatures in the top and bottom of the fridge didn't stray very far from 38 degrees, and the middle of the fridge was within one degree of 36. That's a good performance however it doesn't make it into the top ten in our ratings.

The Frigidaire FGHB2866PF's outside is made of stainless steel with a grey body which has a "smudge-proof" finish. It does a great job of preventing streaks and fingerprints from appearing, even compared to glossier stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tested.
