World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and PvE Damage.

If the weapon's upgrade template ends in %, it will gain 3percent of its previous damage for each time it is upgraded.

The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the current level of the item. The cost increases as the item level increases.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, armor, and weapons to provide them with a boost in stats or add a bonus effect. They can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors or trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment with a slot for them; the item must have been at a minimum upgraded to blue level in order for the component to be applied. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once and cannot be applied multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are a kind of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascending equipment, as other items that are not ascended. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade may be prefixed or a suffix, modifying the name of the equipment with which it is applied (for instance "Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, which allows players to create stronger versions of that equipment with the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than is required to achieve the same level of upgrade through normal methods.

A 'boost upgrade' can modify the attack or defense properties of a weapon, or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be created at the Portative Forging Station. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear, or by purchasing them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals per.

The player can get up to five boost upgrades at one time. Each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-level version of the item will be available at the time of the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep improving their equipment, even if they're unsure of how much they'll improve after a future reset.

The process of upgrading an item could be expensive and it's possible that the item will eventually become obsolete or even break when the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items that can double or even eliminate the chance of failure, and some upgrades that provide the benefit of being reinserted into an item upgrades.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade components which can be put in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the effectiveness of all nodes in the area around them as well as existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways, and we recommend getting them to level 15 as soon as you can.

You'll often see in the final game that placing Glyphs is the Best item upgrade way to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded to level 15 and give an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

Glyphs, the sole upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced with no restrictions are the most popular. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and replaced using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

Each Glyph has a specific range of values it can improve a statistic by, and the value is shown when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph with the same rank or a higher rank, which will boost the value of the glyph.

Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt has the chance of dropping one of the numerous Glyphs, and there are some rare glyphs that can be found as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs, you will need to place them on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus that will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph, this will either be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Leveling

The upgrade items system for items allows players to increase the power of certain items by adding upgraded components. This is commonly known as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned a level that determines the final stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded until they reach a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each level of item requires different components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.

Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by completing upgrade item Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or purchased from some NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed earns some Technology Points. These points can be used to level up the item, and when enough points are earned, the upgrade can be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When a player upgrades an item to a higher level, the original item is replaced with a different item of the same type. The same armor can be transformed into an weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item upgrader mod comes with its own set of bonuses. This can be a downside, as the item can be more expensive even if you don't need it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, if the player has enough reroll tokens to be able to do this. The item will be replaced with an entirely new item that has a base of level 1 and completely different bonuses. This can be beneficial however it should not be used frequently as it can be a waste of resources.

Certain upgrades can be rerolled many times which increases their value and allowing the player to customize their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants an increase in power if the player repeatedly enters or exits water. The item can be upgraded several times, increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item can be extremely valuable in PvP, as an item that is properly rolled it could be worth between 20 and 50x its value without being upgraded.

Requirements

The item upgrader allows players to increase the level of their equippable equipment (armor weapons, armor, and trinkets) above ilvl385 by presenting the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also improve the strength of their base defense and weapon upgrades items increase their base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity.

All items can be upgraded up to five times except for hero equipment, which can be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an item, it is given an opportunity to fail. The failure rate increases the more you exceed the maximum number of upgrades. Failures can cause the item to return to its initial state which means that the player has to spend additional materials than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item fails to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. In addition the item will lose any bonuses it gained such as crit chance, attack damage, and all additional effects associated with the effect (for instance, a higher healing over time or the speed of reloading). However, the user can continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that if a weapon gains a crit chance increase, the increase will be applied before any damage to attack increases. Slots is a brand-new attribute that was added to item definitions. The value is calculated every time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are based on its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to its value. For example, a common item might have five upgrades at a cost. 25600 Technology Points, 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items have lower costs per upgrade.

Premium items could have different upgrade requirements than regular gear. For instance, they may need less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. However, players will have to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. Each upgrade to equipment requires different amounts of ingredients for upgrading, in addition to the cost that are listed above.
