The best automatic vacuum cleaner Robot Hoover

The best robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention. It leaves your floors spotless. Its low cost and top-of-the-line functions (such as dirt detector) are both positives.

Make sure you regularly check your robot's brushes for hair that is tangled and large particles and clean them as required. Some models can also self-empty the onboard dustbin and deposit it in an additional bin at the bottom. This helps reduce the amount of fine dust released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive sibling the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums that we have examined. They feature top-of-the-line motors that can pull up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. And, like other top iRobot models (including the top-rated model) they employ smart mapping technology to design precise floor plans and eliminate home-based obstacles like cords and furniture legs. They also come with a feature called carpet boost that increases the robot's power when it spots the presence of dirt on the carpet to get it cleaned up quickly.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests on bare floors, and they are particularly adept at cleaning dog hair. They do have some flaws, however, that prevent them from being our top choice. One of them is that the Q5's navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance, so it's prone to get caught up in shoes and socks and can't navigate rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera to see around corners.

It's still a great deal for those whose home or office has lots of unfinished floors and you want to save money. It's also very quiet and can be used while you are at work or school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying dock, though. If you're in need of it, the mopping pad can be replaced with a wet one in minutes.

2. IRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming capabilities into a compact, sleek package. Its agile navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it quick to clean and efficient at taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also has a self-emptying bin with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, but it isn't as efficient as some of its competitors in deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mops utilizes sensors to avoid obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the layout of your home over time to offer better cleaning. The app allows you to modify zones and alter the cleaning schedule. It has a battery life that is comparable to other models.

You can instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and extend them when in a carpeted room to prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm is also great for getting under furniture that is low and along baseboards. It doesn't offer the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to complete an entire house, finishing with the battery at 66 percent left. It also did an excellent job of cleaning a mix of floors and rooms with mixed flooring types, including certain area rug. Its obstacle detection was top notch, and it nimbly avoided fake dog turds, socks, shoes and cables.

It's more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however it offers superior suction, a built-in dust bin that automatically empties into its base, and it supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can also clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is something we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combination.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

This mop and vacuum combination has a sleek, circular design that looks more like the regular Roomba model than the bulky models of the competitors. It's among our most attractive robot vacuums that mop vacuums. The latest model from iRobot is also among its most advanced. It comes with advanced features such as Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company's robot vacuum that mops that can wash mop pads on its own).

It's the only robotic mop or vacuum to score 100% in our tests due to a mix of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured lighting system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.

Like other iRobot models like the X40 is user-friendly, offering an intuitive mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only downside is that the X40 still a noisy unit. This could be a problem in the mornings before work, or during the night when you are trying to fall asleep.

It's also quite expensive, but not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally impressive and attractive. If you're willing to put up some more volume and some extra cost this is a powerful two-in-one that will delight most.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with many advanced features to help you get rid of your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine like Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It has a multifunction dock which automatically empty the vacuum's bin and refills the water tank, and cleans and drys the mop pads.

The smart robot employs the combination of LIDAR and structured light to draw out floor plans and identify obstacles, making it more efficient than some of its premium rivals. It also has a camera mounted on the front for real-time detection of hazards, although this wasn't quite 100% foolproof during our tests and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.

The vacuum cleaner has the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to accomplish the task. It also features "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the intensity at which the vacuum works and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home according to the amount of dirt they tend to be.

If you have a larger home, it is worth selecting a robot that comes with zones or spot cleaning modes. This allows you to instruct the robot on which part of your house needs to be cleaned with the help of an app or voice control. A stair mode can be useful if you have a large furniture. Also the recharge and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to pick up right where it left off is ideal for busy families.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you'd imagine from its price. It does a stellar job cleaning, removing 55% of debris in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with a single pad and a rotating motion that cleans better that most mop cleaners for robots that we've tested. And it's highly self-sufficient with a full-featured application and an auto-emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot application guides you through a mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you set on the map. It can be used to make cleaning schedules, arrange a spot clean or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt for better performance. The app offers a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

It can also reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It also has strong suction of 8,000 Pascal suction and combs that are intelligent for hair of pets. You can also create a spot-cleaner that thoroughly cleans a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and cheaper alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It is more appealing in its design, similar to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed to resemble adorable eyes. It does a great job vacuuming, but it's more likely to be stuck on low thresholds. It also has a higher noise than other top robot vacuums that we have examined. It also has an app that's less intuitive, and a smaller base station that can't double as a bin to empty.
