Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and clean offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet mess in one go and without the need to switch between devices. They can also help save space compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bin, refill their water tank, and wash their mopping pads with an appropriate dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has plenty to offer at a low cost, and it's one of the easiest robots we've tested to install. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you up and running with a clean, complete dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in a matter of minutes.

The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can mops up a storm and is a great vacuum cleaner too. The mops are spun at a high rate and employ 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The best automatic vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a range of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app which lets you choose the type of cleaning you want for each room.

For example, you can choose to have the robot do a deep clean in the kitchen and living rooms but be careful with the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models cannot. Its only issue is that the robot vacuum cleaner best is known to smash into objects and walls at full speed. However looking at the cleaning history on the app will tell you precisely what the robot hoover and mop has done, where it is going, and which obstacles it has encountered or avoided.

A handy LCD screen on the docking station tells the maintenance tasks that need to be done, such as emptying the debris tray and cleaning the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank using a 600ml bottle of the eufy's solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time as well, with the mop being able to operate for an 184-minute runtime in Quiet mode and the vacuum able to do 136 minutes in normal mode before needing to recharge or return to the base to replenish. You can view the entire cleaning information in the app, which is clearly laid out and easily understood however we would like to be able to differentiate between a mop only vacuum and a vacuum/mop clean when looking at a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's most popular robot vacuum and mop is the most recent version. The model this year has a double agitator built into its mopping pad. This enhances the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to pull up small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaners could overlook.

The Roborock model, just like the other two models I tested it has infrared and a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it overcome obstacles like walls, furniture and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and includes two cameras that can recognize objects, and determine if they're walls or other surfaces. It then can automatically alter its path and clean around them without skipping a beat.

It's the most expensive of the three models I've examined, but it's also packed with features. Its sleek angular design is striking and only has three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which restarts the cleaning mop button, which doubles as a child-lock, and a home-button to take the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank self-empties and the bin auto-refilling.

The only issue I have discovered with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if needed) however, it's a hassle to take off the mount to wash it manually. I've observed that any soft carpet the robot crosses will come into contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and that can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app lets you manage and configure these smart features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app lets you schedule cleanings and track the battery's lifespan. You'll need to jump through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering the performance otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has incredible suction power, sophisticated mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its intelligent design allows users to tailor and effectively clean while saving time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first one to provide 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum removes dry debris, including pet hair and food particles. It also comes with a high-quality mop that makes hard floors spotlessly clean, even with a wet pad. Additionally the X40 is quiet in it's operation, producing only occasional bursts of noise when switching modes or completing self-maintenance tasks.

The X40 also has a side brush that can be lifted and extended. This lets it reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean curved furniture like chairs and table legs. It also lets the robot to access furniture with a low profile making it an ideal option for apartments or condominiums with small spaces. The side brush also automatically lowers itself when it spots wet spots. This is a nice addition that helps the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors by repeated back-andforth movements.

In contrast to other robots that solely focus on one task, the X40 can perform both vacuuming and mopping simultaneously or individually. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors, and skip carpeted areas, and vice versa. It can be controlled via the Dreame app or via Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is user-friendly and easy to use, and the X40's smart features are a breeze to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, see floor plans and mapping, and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also track its progress and notify you when it's done.

The X40 is easy to maintain and has many convenient features which make it a good option for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin into a huge 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, then refills them with clean water and a cleaning solution. It can also detect whether the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and notify you of the situation before it spills.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's among the most expensive on the market, but it packs in many additional features that make it stand out. The mops come with a brand new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It uses two high-speed mops to scrub floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and it has the highest suction power of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can clean pet hair and small dirt particles - in addition to removing spills and wet spots.

The mop is cleaned and dried in the base station each time they are used. This is a great feature because it stops mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we haven't seen on other robot vacuum uk vacuum and mop models. It could be a great way to keep your home clean longer.

There's an impressive amount of options available which include the possibility to schedule cleaning appointments and alter a variety of preferences. The app lets you set these preferences or use the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and provides a variety of options to customize the cleaning process, and there are a lot of features that other robots don't have - such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles, instead of relying on a manual setting.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen in the market, with metallic and white design that looks classy and sophisticated. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than the other robots on this list, but it's still not too heavy. It feels solid and well-constructed. Mopping is well-designed and the double-rotating mop is a great choice for hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach even 2mm below the baseboards.
