WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the item level by +3. A random additional substat is also increased with every upgrade.

The upgraded gear typically has a greater value for trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or very high stat variation (like the eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as useful for those with higher variance due to the need to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader at least once every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.

Valorstones

They can be bought by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for different currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot of the item upgrade and the current level of the item. For example, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. For instance it's best to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests with the Best item upgrade equipment available, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan to create. This is especially true for items like rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character which will only be able to avail the account-wide discount when all slots are filled with top-quality gear.
