The Best Robot Hoover

The best robotic mop and vacuum robot hoover can mop and vacuum without needing your attention. It will leave your floors spotless. Its surprisingly affordable price and high-end features (such as dirt detection) are pluses.

The robots also have a feature called Carpet Boost that increases its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests of floors with no carpet, and they are particularly adept at cleaning hair from dogs. However, they do have a few flaws, however, that prevent them from being our top choice. One of the flaws of the Q5 is that its navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's also prone to get stuck on shoes and socks and couldn't navigate rooms with lots of people efficiently during our tests. It also doesn't come with cameras that let it see the corners of the room.

It's still a great deal particularly if your home or office has lots of unfinished floors and you want to save some money. It's also quiet and operates when you're at work or school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes that don't stay on very well and can't deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle, however. If you want to, you can switch the mopping pad for a dry one in minutes.

2. IRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact sleek and stylish vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to mop floors. Its quick navigation and smart cleaning maps make it quick to clean and efficient at dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also has an impressive suction system and a self-emptying bin. It's the best automatic vacuum cleaner robot hoover for carpets, although it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.

This highly efficient combination vacuum and mop makes use of advanced sensors to avoid obstacles and pet waste and it also learns your home's layout over time to provide more efficient cleaning. The app lets you set up zones and modify the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average compared to similar models.

It is possible to instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mop and extend them when it's in a room with carpet to prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm can also be utilized to reach under low-lying furnishings and along baseboards. It even cleans the floor after it vacuums this feature, which we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combinations.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

This robot vacuum and mop combination features a sleek, circular look that looks more like a regular Roomba model than the boxy models from the competition. It's one of our most attractive robot vacuums. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also the most intelligent. It comes with advanced features, like enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company’s robot that can wash mop pads on its own).

It's also the sole robot vacuum/mop that scored an absolute 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is due to a combination modern sensors, including a restructured light system, camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.

The X40, like other iRobot products, is easy to use. It has a simple mobile application interface and integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that it's still quite a noisy unit which could be problematic if you run it in the morning prior to work or at night as you try to fall asleep.

It's also a bit expensive, but not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally impressive and attractive. This is a two-in-one vacuum that is very efficient however it's going to cost you more and make more noise.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with many advanced features to help you forget about your chores. Similar to Ecovacs range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that takes charge of both vacuuming and mopping, with a multi-function dock that automatically empty the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank, cleans and dry its mop pads.

The smart robot vacuum reviews uses LIDAR and structured lighting to create floor plans and spot obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its competitors with premium features. It also has a camera mounted on the front for real-time detection of hazards but this was not 100% foolproof during our tests and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.

The vacuum cleaner has the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to accomplish the task. It also comes with an option called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts cleaning frequency for various areas of the house based on how dirty the areas are.

For bigger homes it's recommended to choose models with spot or zone cleaning modes that allow you to tell the robot to clean one specific area of your home via the app or voice commands. If you have furniture, a stair-mode is also useful. For families with busy schedules recharge functions and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to pick up where it left off could be very useful.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you would imagine from its price. It has a great vacuuming performance and was able to remove 55% of debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using one pad that has a reciprocating motion that does a better job cleaning than the other robot mop cleaners we've tried. It's also self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app as well as an auto-emptying washable base.

The well-designed iRobot application guides you through a mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules or create the spot-cleaning. You can also use it to prioritize the most soiled areas to improve performance. The app also gives access to a variety of features like seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, meaning it can get to corners and under furniture more easily. It is equipped with an impressive 8,000 Pascal suction as well as intelligent combs to remove pet hair. You can also create a spot-cleaner that will thoroughly clean an area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive design, akin to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed like adorable eyes. It is excellent at vacuuming, but it's more likely to be caught on low thresholds. It is also louder than other top robot vacuums we've test. It also comes with an app that's not as intuitive and has a tiny base station that can't double as a bin to empty.
