Three Wheeled Buggies

Three-wheeled buggies are great for strolling around the neighborhood or running. Their compact design makes it easy to maneuver even in tight spots.

For an easy ride, opt for a pram that has air-filled tyres. Look for models with 360deg front swivel wheels. They are prone, however to punctures. Make sure you have a repair set.

Frame made of sturdy material

The latest figures have been released showing that the three-wheeled vehicle - a symbol of the noughties of more money than sense is in a decline. They have been replaced by four-wheelers that can handle a wider variety of terrain, while also looking swanky and being easy to push.

The basic idea is that the bigger the wheels are, the easier it will be for your buggy to cope with rough ground and bumpy pavements. The larger wheels, both front and rear, make it easier to move and more stable when walking downhill or on difficult terrain.

MFM reviewer Kath tried this buggy out with a newborn and a 3 year old and found it coped well with grass, cobbles rough pavements, dirt tracks and kerbs. Kath said that "it feels sturdy to push and very solid when traversing difficult terrain. Its tyres (which are inflatable, so require occasional pumping) come with suspension built-in, which was very comfortable for my children.

The shape and size of the seat is another thing to think about. You will want it to be large enough for your child's comfort. You will also want it to be able to recline for them to lie flat. Some three-wheel buggies have the option of lying flat, which allows your child to lie flat and face you, while others only permit a parent-facing option.

The Roma Atlas is a great alternative for off-road or muddy walks. It can be used as a single unit from birth, and then expands to accommodate two children as your family grows. Larger wheels

Larger wheels will give your buggy greater stability when driving over rough terrain. This is especially beneficial for off-road buggies. They also make it easier to manoeuvre the buggy through tight spaces. Many three wheeled buggies have swivel front wheels to help you navigate around corners with ease, whereas others are specifically designed for running and have fixed front wheels that lock to increase the speed and stability with which they can be pushed. This is particularly useful when you hit trees or a kerb. The front wheel will be lifted slightly to avoid hitting it.

Many 3 wheel Stroller with seat wheel pushchairs feature air-filled tyres. This means they are able to handle a variety of terrains and are much more flexible than four wheelers. They are also lighter. They are also more susceptible to punctures, and you'll require a repair kit and spare inner tube in your arsenal.

Mountain Buggy Core, Venicci Carbo and Venicci Carbo lux are some of our favourite 3-wheelers. Both of these buggies have larger wheels that, as per MFM reviewer Kath, "perform really well on gravel tracks, grass and market town cobbles" and are able to effortlessly climb and descend kerbs. They also have a suspension system that in her words "smoothes out bumps very effectively".

The downside of having bigger wheels is that they make some buggies quite broad and make it difficult to get through narrow spaces. This can be an issue especially if you're using it to a jogger or to to get through doors that are narrow when out and out and about. Fortunately, many models come with compact folding options that let you take off the front wheels to make compact storage.

Easy to Manoeuvre

A three-wheeler can be easier to maneuver with children. The way in which they are built ensures that the front wheels turn on a dime and are really maneuverable and are ideal for difficult terrain like cobbles, parks or bumpy pavements, as well as dirt tracks.

MFM reviewer Kath tried a best 3 wheel travel system-wheeler with her toddler and newborn and wrote: "The Terrain was a pleasure to maneuver over tough ground with the swivel rear wheel being especially helpful. I was also awed by the way it handled kerbs, especially when using the hand-operated brake. It was extremely stable when going downhill or on a rough terrain."

The only downside of this incredible mobility is that the jogging 3 wheel stroller wheel buggy's larger wheels do sometimes mean that it can struggle in tight spaces - something to consider especially if you live in a urban region. If this is a concern then a 4-wheel buggy may be better for you.

Bumper bar
