Saab Key Programming

Saab cars built since 1994 feature an immobilizer system that is based on keys that are coded. To add an additional key, you need a new transponder and special programming. This is usually done by the dealer using a Tech2 diagnostic tool.

It can be costly. This is the reason why you should always have a spare key on hand.

Transponder key

The transponder key is a piece of hardware with an electronic chip that sends a signal back to the car when it is inserted into the ignition. The car checks to see whether the signal matches the one on the key. If the signals are in sync then the car will be able to unlock and start. This is a great way to safeguard your car from theft.

Jumpstarting the battery
