Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and clean offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris and wet mess in one go without the need to switch between devices. They also can save space when compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living areas.

A good combination bot should have impressive navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that automatically empty their bin and refill their water tank, and wash their mopping pads with an appropriate dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's among the easiest robots to set up that we've tested. Unpacking is easy and the quick-start guide gets you running in no time. It comes with the complete dust bag, water tank and hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops spin at fast speeds and apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of dirt, pet hair, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a range of attachments and brushes, and a user-friendly application that lets you pick the type of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.

For example, you can opt for the robot to take care of a thorough clean-up in the living and kitchen but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models are unable to. Its only minor issue is that it tends to smash into walls and other objects at full speed - but an instant glance at the cleaning history in the app will tell you exactly what it's doing, where it's going and the obstacles it's avoided.

The docking station has an LCD display that shows when maintenance is needed for cleaning up debris and rinsing the dirty water tank. It's also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank, using a 600ml bottle of the eufy's solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop is able to run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode. The best automatic vacuum cleaner can last 136 mins in normal mode, before needing recharging or returning to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive, allowing you to view all the details of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's top robot mop and vacuum. It's not like the model from last year, this one features an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad, which greatly improves carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an enhanced suction power that allows it to pick up smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaner and mop cleaners could miss.

As with the two other Roborock models I've tried the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to can help it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates dual cameras that can detect objects, determining if they are walls or other surfaces. It then can alter its path automatically and clean the objects without stumbling.

It's the most expensive best robot vacuum that mops I've ever tested however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek and angular design is attractive and it only has three physical buttons: the power button, that also resumes cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock and a home button to return the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml trash bin and 200ml of water tank. The water tank will empty itself and the bin auto-filling.

The only downside I found to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if needed) but it's a challenge to remove the mount for manual washing. I've found any plush carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mount, which can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app is where you can manage and configure these features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings, track battery life and component maintenance. However, you'll have to go through a few hurdles to enable voice control on this model which is a pity considering the performance of this model.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has outstanding suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and a variety of innovative features. Its intelligent design allows for customised and efficient cleaning while saving you time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first one to provide 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum cleans up dry mess, including pet hair and food particles. It has a mop of top quality that cleans hard floors without the need for a pad. The X40 is also extremely quiet in operation and only occasionally bursting during modes changes or self-maintenance.

The X40 has a side brush that can be lifted and extended. This allows it to reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean curved furniture such as table and chair legs. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.

The app is user-friendly and easy to use and the X40's clever features are simple to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at certain times. It is also possible to alter suction power, change modes, look at floor plans and maps and manage mopping setting. The X40 can also monitor its progress and inform you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many convenient features that make it an excellent option for busy families. The docking station can automatically empty the dustbin and wash mop pads before refilling them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It also can detect when the mop pad is overflowing and notify you before it overflows, thus reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive on the market however, it comes with numerous additional features that make it stand out. The mops come with a brand new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It uses two high-speed mops to clean floors more thoroughly than the traditional method, and it has a high maximum suction power of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also clean pet hair, small dirt particles, and clean up spills and soiled spots.

The mop mops are cleaned and dried in the base station every time they are used. This is a fantastic feature as it stops the build-up of odours and mould in storage, and also makes mop systems more efficient. It's a system that we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuum and mop models, and it could be a good method to keep your home hygienic for longer.

There's a wealth of settings on offer, including the possibility to schedule cleaning appointments and alter a variety of preferences. These settings can be adjusted via the app, or via buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and has a lot of options for customising the cleaning routine, and there are many functions that other robots don't include, such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically boosts suction power when it detects dust particles, instead of relying on the manual setting.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen on market, sporting metallic and white colors that looks classy and sophisticated. It is a little heavier at 4kg than the other robots on this listing, but it's still not excessively heavy. It feels solid and well-constructed. The mopping design is also excellent and the double-rotating mop is great for hard floors and in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them reach up to 2mm below baseboards.
