World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also boost extra bonuses like PvE damage and crit chance.

If the template for upgrading a weapon is in %, the weapon will increase an additional 3% of the previous damage every time it is upgraded.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons, and trinkets to provide an extra stat boost or effect while they're in use. These can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors trading or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be applied to equipment with a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to blue level before a component can be used. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once and cannot be applied multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a special kind of upgrade component that is that is used to upgrade non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment, as well as some of the non-ascended back items. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or bought from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. When the player upgrades an item it is replaced with a different item of the same type. This means that the same armor piece will get a weapon or shield when upgraded. Whenever an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied in order from lowest to highest. This means that if a weapon receives a crit chance boost it will be applied before any damage to attack increases. A new attribute called Slots has been added to the definition of the item and the value is calculated each time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined by its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a standard equipment item upgrader mod may have five upgrades with a cost of 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero quality items have lower costs per upgrade.

Premium items have different upgrade requirements as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they may require fewer sowels, but they will require more minerals and erons. Players will still have to bring every piece of equipment they wish to upgrade to the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each equipment upgrade will require different amounts of upgrade ingredients in addition to the expenses listed above.
