Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and clean provide the convenience of cleaning both dry and wet messes in one go and without the need to switch between devices. They can also save space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.

A good combination bot should be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacles avoidance. Look for models that automatically empty their bin, refill their water tank, and machine-wash their mopping pads using a dedicated dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's among the easiest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you running with a clean and complete dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in a matter of minutes.

The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that is able to clean up a storm and is a great vacuum cleaner too. Its mops spin at high speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of pet hair, dirt, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a selection of attachments and brushes, and a user-friendly application that lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.

You can, for example, ask the robot vacuums that mop to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation tech are also excellent as the robot is able to detect tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. Its only issue is that it tends to crash into objects and walls at full speed. However, a quick look at the history of cleaning on the app will tell you exactly what the robot has completed, where it's traveling, and what obstacles it has encountered or avoided.

The docking station features an LCD display that displays the time when maintenance is required, such as emptying debris and washing the water tank that is dirty. It can also mix detergent into the tank in a controlled manner, using a 600ml eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop can run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in standard mode, before needing recharging or returning to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive and lets you see every aspect of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's most popular robot vacuum and mop. In contrast to the model of last year this one has a double agitator in its mopping pad which significantly improves its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an enhanced suction power which allows it to remove smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaners may miss.

This Roborock model, just like the other two I tested it has infrared and a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it avoid obstacles such as walls, furniture and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by adding a dual camera which can detect objects and determine whether they are a wall or another type of surface. It then can automatically alter its path and clean them without missing a beat.

It's the most expensive model I've tested however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek and angular design is eye catching and comes with three physical buttons. The power button, which restarts the cleaning mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles up as a child-lock and a home-button that can send the robot vacuums that mop to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml of water tank. The water tank will empty itself and the bin is auto-refilling.

The only issue I have found with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth if needed, but it's difficult to remove the mount for washing manually. I've observed that any soft carpet the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number intelligent features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app is where you can manage and configure these features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor the life of batteries and maintenance on components. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops to allow voice control with this model which is a pity considering how well it performs otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a leader in the industry with cutting-edge features, high suction power and advanced mowing capabilities. Its innovative design lets you to customize and efficiently clean while reducing time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful choices available. This powerful automatic vacuum and mop cleans up dry mess, including pet hair and crumbs. It comes with a mop of excellent quality that can clean hard floors without the need for pads. The X40 is also extremely quiet in operation, with only occasional bursts during modes changes or self-maintenance.

In contrast to other robots that are limited to one task, the X40 can vacuum and mop simultaneously. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors and skip carpeted areas, and vice versa. It can be controlled using the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.

The app is simple to use and understand and the X40 comes with a variety of smart features that are simple to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, look at floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress, and alert you when it's done.

The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many features that make it a great option for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin into a huge 3.2 L bin, washes mop pads and refills them with clean water and a cleaning solution. It also can detect when the mop pad is filled and notify you before it overflows, reducing the necessity for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available on the market. However, it has a number of characteristics that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, which is a new feature in its mops, uses two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can clean pet hair and small dirt particles as well as picking up spills and wet spots.

The mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after each use. This is an excellent feature because it prevents the build-up of mould and unpleasant odours in storage, and also makes mop systems more efficient. It's a system that we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuum and mop models and could be a useful method of keeping your home cleaner for longer.

There are plenty of options, including the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. These can be set via the app or there are direct buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and provides a variety of options for customising the cleaning process, and there are many features that other robots do not have - such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles, rather than using an individual setting.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a metallic-white-white finish that looks elegant and elegant. It's a little heavier than the other two-in-one robots in this list - at around 4kg but it's not too heavy, and feels sturdy and well-built. The mopping system is well-designed, and the double rotating mop is great for hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
