The best robot vacuum that mops Robot Hoover

The best robot vacuum robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention, and it leaves your floors spotless. Its affordable price and high-end features (such as a dirt detector) are a plus.

Make sure you regularly inspect your robot's brushes for hair that is tangled and large particles and wash them if needed. Some models will also empty the onboard dust bin and place it in an additional bin at the base. This helps reduce the amount of fine dust that is released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive cousin, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic cleaner and mop vacuums we have examined. They feature top-of-the-line motors that can generate up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other premium iRobots (including the top model), they use intelligent mapping to design precise floorplans and avoid household obstacles like furniture leg. The robots also feature Carpet Boost, a feature which boosts its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.

Both the Q5 as well as the Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our floor tests that test for bare floors, and they're particularly adept in cleaning pet hair. However, they do have some flaws that prevent them from being our top pick. For one, the Q5's navigation doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to getting hung up on shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera to see around corners.

It's still a great option, especially if you want to save money on an iRobot Roomba and you have a bare-floored home or office. Plus, it's very quiet and can be used while you're at work, or school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes that don't stay on very well and can't handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with an auto-emptying dock, however. If you're required to mop, the mopping pad can be replaced with an awe-inspiring one in a matter of minutes.

2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to mop floors. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it quick to clean and efficient at dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also has a powerful suction and a self-emptying bin. It's the most efficient robot hoover for automatic vacuum and mop robot carpets, though it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

This highly efficient mop and vacuum combination utilizes advanced sensors to dodge obstacles and pet waste and it learns the layout of your home over time for more efficient cleaning. The app lets you modify zones and alter the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average in comparison to similar models.

When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can instruct it to take off and extend its mops. This can help avoid cross contamination. The flex arm is great to get under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. However, it doesn't have the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

In the course of testing, X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to clean an entire home with just 66 percent of its battery remaining. It also did an excellent job of cleaning a mix of floors and rooms that had different flooring types, including some area carpets. Its obstacle detection was top notch, and it nimbly avoided fake dog socks, turds, shoes and cables.

It's a little more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however it offers superior suction, a dustbin on board that automatically empties into its base, and also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after it vacuums it, something we've not seen on other robot vacuum/mop combos.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

This robot vacuum and mop combination is sleek and has a circular look that looks much like a Roomba model than the boxy models of the rivals. It's one of our most appealing looking robot vacuums. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also among its most advanced. It comes with advanced features like enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads on its own).

It's the only robot vacuum/mop that scored 100% in our testing due to a mix of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can fully self-refill and empty its base station and boasts an industry-leading 12,000Pa suction and self-cleaning mop pads.

Like other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, offering a simple mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only downside is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This can be a problem in the mornings prior to work or in the evening when you are trying to sleep.

It's also a bit expensive, although it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are equally capable and look better. This is a two-in-one vacuum that's very capable, but it's going to cost you more and make more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot mop and vacuum. It has a range of features that are advanced and will help you forget your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine that is similar to Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It comes with a multi-function dock that will automatically empty the vacuum's bin, refills the water tank, and washes and drys the mop pads.

The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floor plans and detect obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its premium competitors. It also has a front-mounted camera to detect hazards in real-time however, it wasn't 100% foolproof during our tests and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.

The vacuum has a suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to finish the job. It also features "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the amount of time the vacuum works and alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home according to how dirty they tend to be.

For larger houses it's recommended to choose one with zone or spot cleaning modes that let you tell the robot to clean one specific area of your home by using the app or voice controls. If you have furniture, a stair-mode is also useful. For families with busy schedules, a recharge feature and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum that mops vacuum to pick up where it left off can be extremely useful.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is more intelligent than its price would suggest. It vacuums well and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using a single pad that uses an oscillating motion that is cleaner than the other robot mop cleaners we've tried. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a fully-featured application, and a self-emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through a mapping session that collects data about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules or set up a spot-clean. It can also be used to it to prioritize your dirtiest areas to improve performance. The app offers a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

It can also reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It has an impressive 8000 Pascal suction, as well as intelligent combs to remove pet hair. You can also create a spot-cleaner that will thoroughly clean the area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras look like cute eyes.
