Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that mop and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet messes (spills, staining) in one time without having to swap out devices. They can also save space compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that automatically empty their bins and refill their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads from a dedicated dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's one of the simplest robots to install that we've tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you up and running with a clean, complete dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in no time.

The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that is able to clean up a storm and also vacuums well. The mops are spun at a high rate and employ 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a variety of attachments and brushes, and a user-friendly app that lets you pick the exact kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.

You can, for example ask the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models can't. The only issue it has is that it tends to crash into walls and objects at a high speed, but just a glance at the cleaning history within the app will show you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading and what obstacles it's avoided.

A handy LCD screen on the docking station shows you when maintenance tasks must be completed, such as emptying the debris tray, and rinsing its dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank, using a 600ml bottle of Eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop can operate for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can last 136 mins in standard mode, before needing recharging or returning to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive, allowing you to view all the details of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot vacuum and mop is the most recent version. The model this year has two agitators built into its mopping pad. This enhances the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an enhanced suction power that enables it to pull up finer hairs and other debris other robotic cleaners may miss.

This Roborock model, just like the other two I tried it has infrared and a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it get around obstacles like furniture, walls, and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by having a dual camera that can detect objects and decide whether they're a wall or another surface. It can then change its course in a way that is automatic vacuum cleaner and mop and clean around them, without missing a step.

It's the most expensive model I've tried however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek and angular design is attractive and it has just three physical buttons which include the power button that also resumes cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock and a home button that can bring the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml trash bin and 200ml tank of water. The water tank will empty itself and the bin is auto-refilling.

The only issue I have discovered with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. You can change the mopping cloth if needed, but it's difficult to remove the mount to wash it manually. I've found any plush carpet that the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mounts, which could cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app allows you to manage and set up these features. It also contains maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor the life of batteries and maintenance on components. You'll need to go through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. This is a shame considering how well-performing it is otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has incredible suction power, sophisticated mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its clever design permits personalized and efficient cleaning, while saving you time.

The X40 is the first best robot hoover vacuum cleaner to deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the most effective options available. This powerful vacuum can clean up dry mess, including pet hair and food particles. It also comes with a top-quality mop that leaves floors sparkling clean, even with a wet pad. Additionally the X40 is very quiet during its operation, with only occasional bursts of sound when switching modes or completing self-maintenance tasks.

The side brush automatically tilts down when it detects wet spots. This is a nice feature that enables the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors through excessive back-and forth movements.

Contrary to other robots, which are limited to a single task, the X40 can mop and vacuum at the same time. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors, and skip carpeted areas or vice versa. It can be controlled by the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.

The app is easy to use and intuitive and the X40 has many smart features that are simple to set up. Users can program the X40 for cleaning at specific times. They can also adjust suction power, alter modes, view floor plans and maps and control mopping settings. The X40 will also track its progress and notify you when it's done.

The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with numerous features that make it a great choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin, and clean the mop pads, then refill them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It also can detect the moment when the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and notify you of the situation before it overflows.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available on the market. However, it has several features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub is a brand new feature of its mops, uses two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can clean pet hair and smaller dirt particles - and also pick up spills and wet spots.

The mop mops are cleaned and dried in the base station every time they are used. This is a great feature because it stops mould and unpleasant odours from building up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is an option we haven't seen in other robot vacuum and mop models. It could be a great method to keep your home clean longer.

There are plenty of options, including the option to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. They can be set through the app or there are buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and provides a variety of options for customising the cleaning routine. Additionally, there are numerous features that other robots do not include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles, instead of relying on a manual setting.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design that has a white-and-metallic look that looks sophisticated and classy. It is a little heavier at 4kg than the other robots on this listing but it's not excessively heavy. It feels solid and well-built. The mopping design is also excellent and the double-rotating mop is great for hard floors and in corners. They can also extend up to 2mm of baseboards due to the MopExtend feature which is a nice addition.
