World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. They also increase bonuses, such as PvE damage and crit chance.

If the weapon's upgrade template ends in %, it will increase 3percent of its previous damage every time it's upgraded.

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with the item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, armor, and weapons in order to provide them with a boost in stats or to add an additional effect. They can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors trading, or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment that has a slot to accommodate them; the item must have been at the very least upgraded to blue level for a component to be applied. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they cannot be applied multiple times or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are kind of upgrade item component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and Ascended equipment, as well as some non-ascended items. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or completing a mission in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix can be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it is applied to (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia',' changes to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, which allows players to create stronger versions of that equipment that require less Upgrade Crystals than is required to reach the same level of upgrade through normal methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defence characteristics of the weapon or armor. These upgrades can be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them in the cash shop, or by getting them from enemies while upgrading other equipment.

The player can have up to five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-level version of the item will drop at the time of the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade their gear, even in the event that they don't know what will be improved after a reset.

The process of upgrading an item can be expensive and it is likely that the item will eventually become obsolete, or even break, if the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the risk of failure. Certain upgrades also provide a bonus if reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets that are specifically designed for. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, which includes any pre-existing attaches. Glyphs are upgraded in a variety of ways, and we recommend getting them to level 15 as soon as you can.

Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of an Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs then you need to place them on your equipment. Leveling

The upgrade items system for items lets players increase the stats of certain items by placing upgraded components inside them. This is also known as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned a level which determines the final stats. Upgraded items are able to be leveled up to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each item level requires different components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by the completion of Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab of a crafting table. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns a number of Technology Points. These points can be used to the upgrading of an item. Once enough points are earned you will be eligible to claim the upgrade and also receive the bonuses.

When a player upgrades an item it is replaced by a new item of the same type. The same armor will receive an weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item upgrade will come with a bonus of its own. This can be a disadvantage, as it can make the item more expensive if you do not require it.

If the player has enough tokens, they can reroll item upgrades. The item will be replaced by an entirely new item that has a level 1 basis and completely different bonuses. This is a good option for certain items, but it's not something that should be done regularly, as it could waste a lot of resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled multiple times which increases their value and allowing the player to customize their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides an increase in power if the player repeatedly enters or leaves the water. The item can be upgraded many times by increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item is highly valuable in PvP. A properly rolled version could be worth up to 50x the value of its non-upgraded counterpart.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to increase the level of their available equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by presenting the appropriate items and currency to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrading armor set pieces will also increase the defense base of that piece, while upgrading weapon equipment will increase the damage base and required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.

Each item can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception for hero gear, which can be upgraded eight times. Each time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it is at risk of failing. The failure rate increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures can result in the item reverting to its original condition, which requires the player to spend additional items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item isn't upgraded, the experience bar in its growth bar will be reset to zero. In addition the item will be deducted any gained bonuses such as crit chance, attack damage, as well as any additional effects associated with the effect (for example, increased heal over time or reload speed). However, the player may still continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.

Whenever an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded gains a crit chance increase that it will be applied before any damage from attacks increases.
