The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot with smart mapping and app-based no-go zones. Its 180-minute running time is impressive. It also automatically refills and self-empties its water tank.

1. Roomba j7+ iRobot from iRobot.

The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's most intelligent robot vacuum to date. Its greatest innovation is a camera-based obstacle detection system that utilizes built-in AI to detect objects such as charging cords, shoes and the pet waste that the majority of other robots cannot avoid (and often slough through). It's the first robot to send you images of objects that it encounters, so that you can instruct that it is safe to avoid it.

The Combo j7+ is also the most effective mop-bot we've ever tested, removing dirt and spills with ease and leaving no trace that it was there. The iRobot application makes it simple to control. You can schedule cleanings and even create Keep Out Zones to ensure it doesn't sweep in areas you don’t would like. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start and stop it using voice.

Its design is a step above the competition with a sleek top piece that appears more like a toy than a loud, obnoxious one. The Clean Base automatic floor vacuum Dirt Disposal System is self-emptying, which is great for reducing your cleanup time.

In our tests, the j7+ was quick to remove dust dirt, pet hair and even pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brush roll kept the debris in one spot rather than sending it scattering all over the floor washing Robot. It even managed to take small gravel and sand, which most other robots aren't able to do. And it did all this without getting caught in our pet's shedding hair.

The j7+, although not as smart as the Roomba S9 for $1,217+ Self-Emptying Vacuum from iRobot, and isn't able to clean the stairs, it's an option for those who need both a vacuum and a mop. It's not too expensive, and the iRobot application makes it user-friendly.

Although the iRobot Home app is very user-friendly, we've found it to be less reliable than other applications that use robotic cleaners. It can take a long time to download updates, and at times it's difficult to tell whether the update actually functioning until you've seen it in the action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you're looking for a vacuum that does more than simply clean floors, the best option is probably hybrid. These bots are equipped with a water tank, so they can vacuum and mop at the same time. They also have a range of extra features, including smart mapping, small obstacle avoidance, and the ability to wash and dry mopping pads. They're expensive at retail, but usually lower prices on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Roborock makes several of our top robotic vacuums, and the Q5+ does not perform to the standards. This is the least expensive model of their auto-empty line. Although it might not have some of the more premium features (like no-go zones and multi-story memories) but it's an excellent choice if you are willing to make some compromises to save a few bucks.

The Q5+ is noticeably soft around obstacles like table legs and walls which makes it a great choice for homes with lots of furniture. It's also very thorough when it comes to cleaning up dust bunnies, which is a problem which many robot vacuums fall short. The navigation technology in the Q5+ is superb and has very few missing in corners and on walls.

The Q5+, just like other Roborock products, can be controlled by just a few buttons on the device or through the Roborock App. With the app you can start and stop cleanings, set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones, and alter your home map or change the labeling of rooms.

If you opt for the Q5+, it comes with a brand new auto-empty dock, which was specifically designed to make the robot easy to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver but once it's installed, emptying the bin can be done easily. It also comes with an impressive LCD display which is great to have when you're creating schedules or changing settings. This feature isn't essential for everyone, but it can help easily keep the robot's maintenance schedules.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's astonishingly smart robot vacuums in both its vacuuming and mopping capabilities. Its design is among the top in the market however, it's costly.

Its base station looks good and is easily hidden when not in use, and the size is quite compact. The main reason to buy the station is the fact that it automates a variety of tasks, chores and functions that other robots have to leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water, electrolyzes and heats the water (which the majority of other robots require you to do) also emptying the dustbin after vacuuming, and ensures that your robot charged and clean.

Its vacuuming performance is quite impressive and efficient, too. It's one of the few robovacs I've tried that does a really good job of picking up debris on plain floors, and is not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.

The Freo X Ultra is not without faults, particularly when it comes navigation. Its LiDAR sensors and laser sensors aren't as reliable as other robotvacs. This means that it can get stuck or confused in certain corners or rooms of the house. It's not able navigate stairs as well as some competitors, either and it doesn't have a dock that allows you to create an area for cleaning that is specifically designed for plush carpets.

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent choice for those who want a robot vacuum that does it all.

If you're looking to cut costs or aren't averse to the limitations of the robot, there are many alternatives available. Many eufy models cost considerably less. The eufy Qrevo curv, for instance, is cheaper and has more features, such as stairs and a fully-function Dock, which provides a better overall vacuuming experience on bare floors, low-pile carpets, and even high-pile ones.

4. Eufy RoboVac g30

eufy, an Anker company is a long-standing leader of creating robot vacuums that strike the right balance between features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning of hard and carpeted flooring, and a mopping function for a low cost. It's simple to set up, just attach one of the side brushes, turn it on and connect your charging dock. The app guides you through several steps to connect it to your Wi-Fi. After that, the G30 is ready to go. The dock should be located near an outlet with plenty of room to move.

The G30 is a tiny device that measures 2.85 inches in height, which means it is able to be placed under most couches and pieces of low-clearance furniture. Its design is a little less flashy than some of the rival models, with a sleek black finish and three physical buttons such as Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge and Spot Cleaning (which scrubs a space in an arc for two minutes). You can also connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to perform cleaning that is not scheduled using voice commands.

The way the G30 cleans is what differentiates it from its rivals. It makes use of a built-in map to create an image of the immovable objects it encounters, remembering what it's already cleaned and the areas it's not able to access. It will return to the base to recharge, and then begins cleaning the area it left.

The elegant G30 has a few issues. The iRobot Roomba is better built and has lower cost of operation. It charges faster, offers the same battery life and performs better on unfinished floors or low-pile carpet. It also has a larger dust bin that doesn't need to be emptied as frequently and comes with the boundary strips to keep it away from certain areas. The G30 is less expensive and easier to maintain. Its smaller dust canister doesn't need emptying as often and is less prone to suffocating bulky materials such as cereal.
