WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you an increase in certain statistics. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item by +3. A random extra substat is also increased with each upgrade.

The more modernized gear generally has a greater value for trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as useful for the latter because of the requirement to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader enables players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader every couple of weeks to ensure that your equipment is up to date.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item but they will always be cheaper than buying new gear. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items that can be used to improve the quality of weapons, tools, armor, and other items. Players can purchase them through NPCs who sell upgrades to item level upgrade owners for a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be used on any weapon or tool with an The button will display the item's next upgrade level when there are enough materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the slot of the item and the current level of the item, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers for example. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades give discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

Upgraders for items are available in a variety of locations on the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount as well as a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases when more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.

Players can earn crests by working through content that is of the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and performing outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons with all difficulty for items of higher tier or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons to obtain endgame gear. Crests can be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken, for the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.

Utilizing these new currencies isn't too complicated however, the system will introduce a few modifications to the upgrade process. For instance, once an item upgrade reaches the highest level of upgrade item for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This is to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters, instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

Another significant modification is that crests have one purpose, so it's important to use them wisely. For instance it's a good idea to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the top equipment available and keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you plan on making. This is particularly relevant for rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character that will be able to take advantage of the discount for all accounts when all slots are filled with top-quality gear.
