WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by +3. Each upgrade also increases an unspecified substat.

Upgraded gear is generally more useful, unless the item has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are not as valuable for those with higher variance because of the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item level upgrade, love it, that is used to upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities, and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your gear. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader each several weeks.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item however, they are always cheaper than purchasing new gear. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar item from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any tool, weapon or armor. The button will display the preview of an item's next upgrade level, when there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot of the item upgrader mod and the current level of the item. For example, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades offer a discount on the Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level and is degraded, it can be sold and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currencies.

Item upgraders can be found in many places on the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount and a chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. This allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible on all of their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another significant modification is that crests have one purpose, so it's important to make use of them in a responsible manner. For instance, it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the Best item upgrader equipment available, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you're planning to create. This is especially applicable to items like rings and trinkets that occupy several slots. The account-wide discount is only applicable when all slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
