World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

The upgrade of an item can be used to improve the stats of a particular item. Depending on the upgrade type, it may boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, and also boost other stats.

Each item comes with a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next item by a certain amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's base stats increases as it is upgraded. The value is the sum of all of its upgraded benefits (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive, depending on the person you hire and what you do. This is due to how many perks need to be replaced to allow the item upgrade to be upgraded.

The level of an item is a popular measurement of power and can be found on all item tooltips. It is also used as a gating requirement when queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios, and to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear (since PvP is restricted to the lower levels). Players can view their average level of item on their character sheet.

When deciding to purchase or sell gear, players can compare the item level. It's a good indicator of an item's quality and the amount of damage it's capable of dealing with. Comparing items from the inventory of a seller can be done by using the item upgrade's level.

The level of the item can be checked by pressing the ALT key on PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the full description of the item, including its value. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing in /itemlevel chat.

There are a few theories about how the calculation of an item's level is made. One theory suggests that the level of an item is calculated using a formula that calculates the worth of an item's stats actually are. It takes into consideration the fact that different perks have different values and that gems in sockets add to the value of the item overall. This can result in a calculated amount for the Best item upgrade's ilvl, which is usually close to Blizzard's actual item level.

Item Stats

Stats on an item are a significant element in what determines the value of an item for players. The game uses a variety of them in a variety of ways to encourage players to play with a variety of weapons, and to prevent one weapon from being "the Best item upgrader." The base stats on a weapon are increased by the weapon's stat mods that are in turn increased by the player's skill.

Upgrades to an item can increase the stats of an item. The rarity of an item determines the cost of upgrading. A grey or white item for instance, will only be upgraded one time and items with rare tiers can be upgraded several times at higher prices.

Currently, all affixes can be rerolled by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button, which is accompanied by circling arrows. It will cost a set amount of gold and other items. These can be used as upgrade gauges, just like the other rerolling methods.

In addition to the possibility of rerolling affixes, players may select which of the available stats to keep on an item after it is upgraded. The possible ranges of stats for an item are based on the level of the item, however every item is guaranteed to have at minimum one stat within that range, unless it is an exclusive item or a God roll from a boss in a raid.

This is another aspect that could be changed by introducing an option to upgrade the equipment without rolling the affixes or choosing which stats to enhance. As with the base equipment, this would have to be done per item, and the item comparison interface would not display all the possible stats at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat for a player adds up to increase the odds of item discoveries as well as the properties that appear on loot drops, and the intensity of the properties. It doesn't, however, directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It merely gives players the possibility to obtain better gear in earlier waves and is thus more beneficial in early game runs than later ones since most players prefer higher weapon scaling and defenses over damage gains.

Luck can also boost the chance of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chance, which increases with each item level and can be further enhanced by using an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Weapons, armor, and shields can spawn or be crafted by using the Luck property, with an initial value of 40. These items can be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the item's material type) to give +40 Luck, or to increase the Luck of an item, up to 140.

Furthermore, certain items, such as the Hollow weapon that is infused with hollow, can be equipped to increase the damage dealt by any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items can be bought from the shop or constructed using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Item upgrades are expensive and not every upgrade will be successful. However, there are cash shop items that allow players to boost their chance of success or stop themselves from losing an item if the upgrade is unsuccessful.

The success rate of an upgrade can be seen in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the probability of completing the upgrade successfully, and it can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The probability of success can only be increased as much, and the likelihood that an upgrade will fail can't exceed 100%.

The Luck of an item can affect the success of an upgrade. Every item has an average success rate of 25% and every item with Luck increases the chance of success by 5%.

It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the inventory items which means that enchantment glints and other effects may be obstructed by the overlays.
