World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and PvE Damage.

For example a weapon that has the upgrade template that ends in % will gain 3% attack damage every time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the current level of the item. The cost increases with the item's level.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons and trinkets to provide an extra stat boost or effect when they're used. They can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors or trading with other players, or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components are only available to equipment with a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to blue before a component can be used. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once and cannot be applied multiple times or replaced by new upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are kind of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascended equipment, as well other items that are not ascended. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade can be prefixed or a suffix that alters the name of the equipment to the upgrade (for instancefor example 'Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions using less upgrade crystals than they require to achieve the same level with normal methods.

A 'boost upgrade' can alter the defense or attack attributes of a weapon or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them in the cash shop, or by collecting them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.

Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher tier version of an item will be available during the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their gear even in the event that they don't know how much it will be improved after the reset.

If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process could be expensive, and there is a substantial chance that the item could become obsolete or even break when it fails. A failure to upgrade can destroy the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items that increase or even eliminate the chances of failure, as well as some upgrades that provide a bonus when reinserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs, the sole upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and replaced with no restrictions are the most popular. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

Each Glyph has a particular range of values it can improve a statistic by, and the value is shown when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you will require them to be placed on your gear. Leveling

The item upgrade system allows players to increase the power of certain items by inserting upgraded components. This is often referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level which determines the final stats. Upgraded items may be leveled up to a maximum of 385. Each level of an item requires a different amount of components to be reached, and the upgrade costs increase as the item gets advanced in level.

Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by making Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or bought from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used for upgrading an item. Once enough points are earned, you will be able to claim your upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.

When the player upgrades a piece of equipment, the base item is replaced by an item that is new. The same armor can be transformed into a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item also comes with its own set bonus. This could be a disadvantage in that the item could become more expensive even if you do not need it.

If the player has enough tokens they can roll the upgrade of their item. This causes the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, which will come with a level 1 base and a totally different set of bonus bonuses. This is a good option for some items, but it shouldn't be done regularly, as it can waste a lot of resources.

Certain upgrades can be rerolled multiple times to increase their value, allows the player to modify their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives buffs when the player is repeatedly in or exits water. It can be upgraded multiple times, each time increasing the maximum roll by a factor of 10. This item is extremely valuable in PvP as a perfectly rolled version of it could be worth between 20 and 50x its non-upp'd value.

Requirements

The upgrade of items allows players to boost the level of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by providing the appropriate currency and items to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces boost the defense of the base set and weapon upgrades items boost their base damage as well as their strength and dexterity.

Each item can be upgraded a maximum of five times, except for hero gear that can have eight upgrades. Each time you upgrade an item it has an opportunity to fail. The rate of failure increases as you go beyond the maximum number of upgrades. Failures can result in the item returning to its original condition which means that the player has to spend additional resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item is not able to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. Additionally, the item will lose any bonuses it gained, including crit chance and attack damage, as well as all additional effects associated with the effect (for example, increased heal over time or the speed of reloading). However, the player may still continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to the highest. This means that, when a weapon gains an increase in crit chance, the increase is applied prior to any increase in attack damage. A new attribute called Slots is now added to the item level upgrade's definition and the value is computed every time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are determined by its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The upgrade cost for non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a typical equipment item may have five upgrades, each costing 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero quality items will have a much lower cost for each additional upgrade.

Premium items might have different upgrade requirements than normal equipment. For example they might require less sowels, however they may require more minerals and orons. The player will need to bring each piece of gear they want to upgrade to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each equipment upgrade requires different amounts of the upgrade ingredients in addition to the costs mentioned above.
