The latest list of banned number plates that have been deemed too naughty for Britain's roads has been released by the DVLA.

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency creates a list every time new registrations are released, which happens twice a year in March and September.

More than 400 combinations for the new '68 plates have been forbidden by the DVLA to keep the streets decent.

Banned combinations include homophobic and racist slurs, swear words, or other offensive terms such as 'DO68 GER', 'DR68 GGY', 'NO68 SHT' and 'OR68 ASM'.

Others featured on the list include 'NO68 JOB', 'MY68 DCK', 'DO68 SHT', and 'BA68 TRD'.

The DVLA already automatically bans any plate with sex, bum or a** on the end.

Certain combinations such as R**APE, BO**SOM, TO** SER, SL** UTS and BO** MBS, are also blocked each year.

Earlier this year, the number plate 'C*11 **T' was banned after an anonymous individual put it up for sale for £6,000.

A DVLA spokesperson said: 'Many people enjoy displaying a personalised registration number and there are over 50 million registrations available on our website, with almost endless possibilities of combinations to suit a person's taste, interests and webpage budget with prices starting at just £250.

'The vast majority of registration numbers are made available but the Agency holds back any combinations that may cause offence, embarrassment or are in poor taste.'

The DVLA make around £160million each year by selling personalised number plates that feature initials, names, or special words.
