WoW Upgrades - The item upgrading Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a an increase in certain statistics. Each upgrade increases the item level by +3. A random additional substat is also increased with each upgrade.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as valuable for those with higher variance due to the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item upgrade used for the upgrade will be consumed forever and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks.

The cost of upgrading will be based on the current item upgrader mod level of the gear being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than buying new gear from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapon, armor, tool, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players from NPCs of item upgraders for a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists.
