3 Wheeler Buggies

A three-wheeler is ideal for off-roading, offering an easy ride for your infant. They are also simpler to push and manoeuvre than a four-wheel buggy especially those equipped with fabric slings or modular seat units, which are positioned tightly in the frame to provide the best design and weight distribution.

Stability

Tyres

These tyres absorb bumps and uneven surfaces to make your child's journey more comfortable. You'll find these on pushchairs like the Phil & Ted's Sport which MFM reviewer Kath found to offer "an amazing ride for my toddler". She also said that the grippy tires of the Phil & Ted's Sport made it easy for her to navigate the kerbs and other obstacles.

They can be tricky to keep inflated and will need to be filled regularly. They are also more prone to punctures than foam tyres, so you'll need to make sure that you have a repair kit along with a spare inner tube and pump on hand when you are out and about with your buggy.

PU tyres are typically found on pushchairs as they are a cheaper option than tyres filled with air, but they are just as robust. PU tyres are easily identified by their matte finish and soft feel. They also slide well on even and tied surfaces.

If you run your hand over the tyres you can tell if they're rubber or PU. If it feels as if it's sliding, then it's a PU. You can also confirm whether your buggy has PU tyres by sliding the tyres over an even, clean surface - they'll be able to roll easily and fit comfortably in their wheel hubs.

Foam tyres can withstand the rough terrain associated with high-performance buggies. The drawback is that the foam can compress and make your buggy appear less stable because it loses its springy nature. These tyres also make a lot of noise, as they make a lot noise when you turn and drive around the town.
