WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of the item by +3. A random extra substat is also added to every upgrade.

The upgraded gear typically has a more value in trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or has a high stat variance (like the eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as important for the latter because of the requirement to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader enables players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. The item upgrades used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.

When a piece attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it no longer requires Flightstones. This change lets players upgrade their equipment to the highest possible level for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another notable change is that crests only have one use therefore it's essential to use them properly. It is best to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the Best item upgrade gear you can locate and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is especially true for items such as trinkets and rings that take up several slots. The account-wide discount will only be applicable if all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
