Path of Exile Item Upgrades

item upgrading upgrades are a common and essential way to boost the performance of numerous items in Path of Exile. They can be a fantastic source of additional damage and more AD or even more attaches.

Armor

There are several different types of armor upgrade available in the game. Each has a different effect. Certain upgrades grant armor an additional amount of health points while others make it lighter and more powerful. The name of the armor upgrade will indicate the kind of upgrade an item can receive, as shown below.

Some upgrades also feature magical or a combination of technology and magic, which is identified by the "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Certain upgrades require charges for use. These are identified as "Charges" entries in the table. The charges for these upgrades are updated daily or never expire, depending on the upgrade.

Iron Ore is the cheapest method to upgrade your armor. It can be found by exploring and looting small loot chests. Titanium is more costly, but can be found at the smelters of Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Some upgrades, like the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be applied on high-level armor pieces. These upgrades can give significant boost to stats and are worth the investment, particularly for one-handed weapons.

The player must be aware that upgrading a piece to its maximum upgrade level will boost its defense. However, it will also affect its agility and its speed. For this reason, it is not recommended to upgrade most armor pieces beyond +9, since the defensive boost gained is typically not worth the weight and power costs of the upgrades needed.

Weapons

Weapon upgrades allow players to improve the effectiveness of certain aspects of a weapon. Upgrades can boost the accuracy of a rifle or the damage that shotgun shells cause. Some weapons have special upgrades to improve their inherent capabilities. They include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and reduces the risk of overheating of the weapon) and Kinetic Coils (increases the velocity of projectiles for greater damage).

The majority of upgrades for weapons require a whetblade, one of three Power Dices and a different amount Minerals and Erons. These can be obtained by doing side quests, or killing a certain amount of monsters or bosses, or by contacting the Weapon Upgrade NPC located in Central Flarine.

To upgrade a weapon, equipment set piece or Whetblade, you must visit the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine, and pay her an upgrade fee of a specific amount of Bars. The higher the upgrade level, the higher the number of bars are required to complete it. The cost of upgrading will be less if you have more than one of the upgrade materials.

In Chapter 2: Season 5, the way you upgrade your weapon and equipment sets was a bit different. The majority of players will make the most of upgrades to weapons they most often use to allow them to progress quicker. Jewels

All tiers of jewels are crafted at the Jeweler, with the exception of the rare and legendary jewels which require you to be at a high enough level to qualify for them. Jewels can be replaced with another one without damaging the original. You can only replace the gem once within an item upgrade of equipment.

The use of more jewels in the movement will make it feel smoother and is typically used for aesthetic reasons. Jewels also enhance performance and create an outer layer that is more durable than steel so that repeated friction caused by pivots does not damage them.

In addition to the above-mentioned upgrades players can also get glyphs for their shields and weapons from a Glyphmaster. These provide a small bonus and can be swapped out at any time, but are not guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs can be upgraded, like jewelry, at the Jeweler for gold and a scattered Crystal. Glyphs can also be taken out from the inventory, and they are returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as traits and aegis, are not swappable, and can only be retrieved using an Upgrade Extractor, or by salvaging them using Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage Tool.

Trinkets

Trinkets are pieces of equipment that bestow a wide range of tiny but valuable benefits to your hero. They can be obtained in the starter areas as loot, personal story rewards, from vendors, and by performing road interactions. They can also be made by jewelers, and then found or purchased on the Trading Post.

The first trinket a player can unlock is the cloak. It grants a small but useful bonus to movement speed and evasion. The player can then acquire rings, amulets and necklaces, in a similar way as they did with weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment comes with one upgrade slot that can accept either a universal or jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades are smaller and are able to be used on any piece of equipment. Jewels cannot be upgraded or replaced and are only compatible with certain trinkets.

These trinkets provide additional buffs and abilities that are active even when the hero isn't fighting. This lets a hero be more efficient while inactive. It can also make up for the lack of a excellent slot in the talent tree or team that are normally filled by a hero's top stats.

A good rule of thumb for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best-in-Slot) items that you aren't planning to replace soon, followed by items with desirable stats but less important than the iLevel of the Item Upgrade that is being upgraded.
