WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you boost in specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item by +3. Each upgrade also increases an unspecified substat.

The upgraded gear typically has a higher trade value, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the necessity to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader enables players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed forever and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create the enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader once every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up to date.

The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current item level of the equipment being upgraded however, they will always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment from other sources. For example upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points while purchasing the same item from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used for tools, armor, weapon and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players from item upgrader NPCs in exchange for various currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor using an button, which will show an image of the item at its next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot of the item and the current level of the item. For example weapons cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades give discounts on Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain degree, it can be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currencies.

Many locations offer item upgraders which include the main island and a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount as well as a chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases according to the number of items that are being upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete some specific achievements or quests.
