WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you boosts in specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of the item by +3. A random additional substat is also added to each upgrade.

Upgraded gear generally sees higher trade value regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or has a high stat variation (like the eth titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapons. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enchantments.

The upgrader is located in every major city, and is accessible anytime to upgrade your gear. It is recommended to visit the upgrader once every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

The cost of upgrading will depend on the current level of the gear being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than buying new equipment from other sources. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, while buying a similar item from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items which can be used to upgrade weapons tools, armor, and accessories. They can be bought by players through item upgrader NPCs in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any tool, weapon, or armor. The button will show a preview of an item's next upgrade level, when there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the slot for the item Level Upgrade and the current level of the item upgrades. For example weapons cost more than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain level and is degraded, it can be sold and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currencies.

Upgraders for items are available at many locations, including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount as well as a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players complete certain achievements or complete quests.

Crests

Players have several options for upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an integral component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

First, you should know that the crests can only be purchased for equipment of a certain rank. Each rank comes with distinct upgrade paths. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade requires up to 20 crests, depending on the kind of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by working through content that is of the appropriate level, whether that means walking around and doing outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, raids or dungeons with any difficulty for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons for endgame gear. These crests are then exchanged with an upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and pathways.

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, but it does bring some changes to the process of upgrading. Once a piece of gear attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it no longer requires Flightstones. This is to allow players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible for all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

Another notable change is that crests have one usage and it's crucial to use them properly. For instance it's a good idea use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the Best item upgrader gear you have available and keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning to make. This is especially true for items like trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to benefit from the discount for all accounts when all slots are filled with high-quality equipment.
