World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades can be used to increase the stats of a particular item. Depending on the upgrade type, it may boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, as well as boost other stats.

Upgrades to equipment in The War Within requires a specified number of Flightstones and Crests and each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a certain amount.

Item Level

The value of an Best item upgrader's stats base increases as it is upgraded. This is the sum of all of its leveled up advantages (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive dependent on who you employ and what you do. This is due to the number of perks that must be altered to upgrade an item.

It is also used as a gating requirement while queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It can also be used to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear as PvP is restricted at lower levels. Players can view their average level of items on their character sheet.

Utilizing the level of an item can help players compare the potency of gear when they decide to buy or sell. It's a measure of the damage and its quality. The level of the item can be used to evaluate items when examining the inventory of a seller.

On PC, you are able to view the item level by pressing ALT or using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will show the item's full description, including the ilvl. It can also be found by hovering over an item using the mouse cursor and typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are a variety of theories on how the item level is calculated. One theory says that the level of an item is determined by an equation that determines the value of an item's stats actually are. It takes into account the fact that various perks have different value, and also that sockets have gems that increase the value of the item overall. This process can result in a calculated amount for the item's ilvl, which is usually quite close to Blizzard's actual level of the item.

This isn't the only factor that influences the level of an item. The location of where the item was dropped can alter its stats. For instance, it could increase the item's haste or crit rating. Items dropped in higher-level instances will have a higher value.

Item Stats

The item's stats can be the difference between a good or bad item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in a variety of ways to encourage players to play with multiple weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the most effective." The base stats on a weapon are enhanced by the weapon's stat mods, which are themselves enhanced by the player's level.

Upgrades to the item add by increasing certain stats of the item. The costs for upgrades are determined by the rarity of the item. For example, a grey or white item can only be upgraded once, while items with rare tiers will be upgraded several times, at higher costs.

Another method to alter the stats of an item is to use affixes. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player and come in a variety of shapes and sizes. The affixes are used to give items extra damage or special capabilities (such as the ability to revive dead or reduce cooling downs) or to distinguish them by putting a name on them.

Currently, all affixes can be modified by selecting them in the upgrade item window and pressing the green button with circles arrows. This will cost a certain amount of gold and other items. These can be used as upgrade gauges as with other rerolling methods.

In addition to Rerolling affixes and rerolls, players can select which of the available stats they want to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The range of stats determined by the item's level. However each item will contain at least one stat in that range unless they are an exclusive item or the item is a God Roll from a raid boss.

Another thing that could change is the possibility of upgrading equipment without having to roll the affixes, or choose which stats to increase. However, as with the base equipment, this would need to be performed on a per-item basis and the interface for comparing items will not show all the stats that could be either lost or gained at the same time.

Best item upgrader Luck

A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the likelihood of finding items, the properties spawned on loot drops and the strength of the properties. However, it doesn't directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players a chance to upgrade their equipment in earlier waves and is therefore more beneficial in the early game than in later ones, because most players value greater weapon scaling and defense over damage gains.

Luck can also boost the chances of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade probability which increases with each item level and can be further enhanced by using an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons have an initial Luck value of 40. These items can be upgraded with golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to grant an additional +40 Luck or to increase the existing Luck of an item, up to 140.

Certain items, such as the Hollow-infused weapon, can also be equipped to increase the damage dealt by any skill that is able to deal damage by 5%. These items can be found in the shop or crafted with the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades work. However, there are some cash shop items which allow players to increase their chances of success or even prevent themselves from losing an item in the event that the upgrade fails.

When you upgrade an item, the success rate is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the likelihood of successful upgrading an item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limits to how much success rates can be increased and the chance of an upgrade failing cannot exceed 100%.

The performance of an can be affected by the luck of that item. All items have an average success rate of 25 percent, and each item that has Luck increases this chance by 5%.

Note that upgrades to items are rendered above the items in the inventory therefore enchantment glints and other effects could be obstructed by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
