Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to upgrade their weapons and equipment with new affixes that boost its stats base or giving additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player needs to have it in their inventory, as well as access to the kiln.

Items that have weak bases, such as rings can be upgraded to more robust bases. Items with strong bases, like the Titans of eth have little change in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons, and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute bonus or extra effect, while the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, or found in loot, dropped by enemies, or obtained as a reward from missions or chests. Some upgrades have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before they are upgraded.

To upgrade the quality of a weapon, armor or other item in the game, the player will need to select it and then click the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will display a preview on the right side of the screen showing what the expected upgrade stats will be and also the component or material needed for the upgrade to take place.

There are three types of upgrade components: universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which include gems, are able to be used in any kind of equipment, and offer lower bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Infusions, which can only be placed in gear that is ascended and legendary equipment, are the same as jewels but provide larger bonuses and cannot be used in any other kind of equipment. Suffix upgrades are able to be placed in gathering tools, will include their name at the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for instance adding the word Glyph to the Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor will transform it into a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If a player upgrades a gathering tool, and replaces glyphs with another glyph the old one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace another upgrade component with a glyph, it will be destroyed, except for the inscriptions, which can be freely swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some important changes from the previous versions. Gear is now categorised in tracks, and each item can only be upgraded as many times before it is "leveled out." The upgrade cost increases with each level up however the materials required do not increase as much. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a few important items to maximize their impact, instead of spreading upgrade costs across multiple pieces.

This allows the item to receive upgraded components and a greater chance of success. This bonus is known as Artisan's Energy. It will reset to 0 if an upgrade fails or increases when the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece is upgraded to its maximum level, it will be able to gain affixes which will boost its attributes. The number of affixes that are available will depend on the item's type. For instance an uncommon or exclusive weapon with a base that is standard will only have two affixes. A legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade requires the use of a certain amount of Flightstones and crests to complete depending on the current level of the item and the slot it's in. Weapons will typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item does not get to its maximum level The NPC will offer the player the option to transfer it to another character and then re-infuse it with another set of upgrades. This procedure can take as long as two hours, and costs the same amount of material. However it has a lower rate of success.

To determine the height of a building, engineers will use a level to compare the measurement with a known reference point like a benchmark or the elevation of the ground. This process is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the level, backsighting rod and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are constructed to a high level of safety and accuracy.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is a vital aspect of the game and can drastically increase the strength of an item and damage as well as other attributes. It is possible to do this through the item upgrader mod menu, or by pressing the Reroll button when you upgrade an item. Rerolling is costly and should only be used in rare cases.

Each upgraded item may also come with a unique fixed-value, fixed-value benefit that increases its power by a specific percentage. These bonuses are rolled in addition to the usual affixes. The more you improve a product, the higher your chances of receiving a unique bonus.

The game also includes number sets that grant a bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are installed on an item. This is a good method to give a character a lot more power without spending a ton of money.

Many players choose to reroll their equipment and weapons, particularly in the beginning of the game. Rerolling can help you gain a stronger character faster, allowing players to advance in the game and attain higher levels.

Sets

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers an extensive selection of upgradeable set items. Some are worth upgrading, others aren't. Upgrades are worthwhile for armor sets with high defense value and set bonuses. However, most upgrades to weapons don't improve the stats of the item when compared to their counterparts in purple. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if you already have lots of weapons or armor pieces already.

Another reason to upgrade certain items is to bring them up to the same level as their tiers. The Immortal King Set, for instance, comes with a wide range of levels ranging from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower-level items could improve their defense, and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.

To determine if an item is worth upgrading, players should click the Upgrade button in the character screen. The item level upgrade will be displayed with its features, as well as the necessary items required to upgrade it. To upgrade the No-mouth face for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. In general, armor and weapons have a higher trade value when they are fully updated. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons that have spell/weapon-damage glyphs.
