Persib will begin their campaign in BRI Liga 1 by facing their own team. They hold the title of defending champions in BRI Liga 1 2024/2025. Maung Bandung will try to defend their title, which is evident from their activity in the transfer market. Persib has brought in two local players with Indonesian national team labels, Dimas Drajad and Adam Alis. Both are expected to have a significant impact on the depth of Persib's squad. - Todd Ferre: After two years away from Papua, Todd Ferre returns to the region with PSBS. Previously part of Persipura Jayapura’s youth system, Todd Ferre joined PSBS after a stint with PSS Sleman. Last season, he played 18 matches for PSS, logging 469 minutes without scoring. Despite a less impressive last season, his performance as a winger is still highly anticipated and could add value to PSBS’s attack.

Ahead of the BRI Liga 1 2024/2025 season, PSIS Semarang has seen major changes, including several key player departures. Two crucial local defenders, Fredyan Wahyu and Wahyu Prasetyo, have transferred to Malut United. They follow in the footsteps of Hari Nur Yulianto, who made the same move last season. Compared to the previous season, Persija Jakarta has made few changes to their squad. Key players like Hanif Sjahbandi and Syahrian Abimanyu, who were rumored to be transferring, chose to remain. Marko Simic and Gustavo Almeida have also stayed with the team. The team has lost two senior players, Maman Abdulrahman and Tony Sucipto. Nevertheless, other experienced players such as Andritany Ardhiyasa and Riko Simanjuntak are still around to lead the team. The club has also promoted young talents to the first team. While there haven't been many changes in player composition, Persija Jakarta has made a significant shift in their coaching staff. Thomas Doll is no longer with the team, and Carlos Pena, from Spain, has been appointed as the new head coach. Pena is expected to build a more solid team and improve on their Piala Presiden 2024 performance. Additionally, there has been a change in team captaincy. For the 2024/2025 season, the captaincy has been taken over by Rizky Ridho from Andritany Ardhiyasa.
