Samsung has spent a whole year reworking the Family Hub fridges based on feedback from customers. You can now create different profiles for every member of your family so that they can personalize the information and apps they have access to. It's not quite as effective as having Alexa integration integrated into your refrigerator, but it's an improvement on the previous model.

Family Hub is not only an app for managing your entertainment and food, but it also controls Samsung's SmartThings platform. It can be used to control Matter-compatible devices such as lights and plugs as well as locks.

Samsung's refrigerator is a few years old and, although it still has plenty of features but its touchscreen features aren't something that most people would consider a must-have. These are more of a fun and somewhat frivolous addition than anything else.

This may be changed with the release of more software updates, but at present these models are ideal for those who want to have the most comprehensive connected refrigerator that is possible. You can save money by purchasing a model without the Family Hub if you're not one of these people. That might still be worth it in the event that you own a lot of smart home appliances that require control from the same screen, or if you enjoy the idea of having refrigerators with a huge touchscreen.
