The Middle East is a region where automobile is king and fuel is cheap, often leaving little reward to find more environmentally-friendly methods of moving around.

But this year, as demonstrations across the Middle East have pressed up the cost of oil, the issue of finding alternative sources of fuel has entered sharp focus.

In an area that has among the highest carbon footprints on the planet, one business is taking benefit of the growing pressure to find alternatives to oil. It's set up the Middle East's first plan to oil into biodiesel. It's showing profitable too, already their client-list consists of McDonald's.
