Upgrades give you an increase in specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by +3. A random substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.

The use of these currencies isn't that difficult however, the system does introduce some changes to the overall upgrade process. Once a piece of gear reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This is to allow players to get their equipment to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters, instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

Another important change is that crests have one usage and it's crucial to use them wisely. It is recommended to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the top-quality equipment that you can find, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is particularly applicable to items like trinkets and rings that take up several slots. The discount for the entire account will only apply when all slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
