World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can increase the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also boost extra bonuses like damage from PvE and crit chance.

For example an item with the upgrade template that ends in % will gain an attack damage of 3% each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the item level rises.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, armor, and weapons to give them a stat boost or add a bonus effect. These can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors trading or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be applied to equipment with a slot. The item must be upgraded to blue before a component can be used. Upgrade components, unlike other mods can only be applied once. They are not able to be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and enrichments are a special kind of upgrade component that is that is used to upgrade non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment and some of the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment from the ascended state or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix can be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it's applied to (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, allowing players create stronger versions with less Upgrade crystals than they require to achieve the same level with normal methods.

A 'boost upgrade' can modify the attack or defense attributes of a weapon or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be crafted at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades are available for purchase them from the cash shop or by getting them from enemies while upgrading other equipment.

The player can get the maximum of five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the likelihood that a better-quality version of the item will be available during the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep improving their equipment even if they're not sure of how much they'll improve following a subsequent reset.

The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process can be costly and there is a significant chance that the item could become obsolete or even break if it fails; a unsuccessful upgrade could destroy Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. Glyphs

Each level of Best item upgrade requires various components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.
